In 1988, the founder of Leather Legs™ Jay Hansbro, renovated the common chaps and in doing so developed the half chap. This allowed the lower leg to stay dry, clean and protected without hindering the ability of using your front pants pockets. For the next several years, while fitting friends and friends to be, Jay worked in his garage, experimenting and modifying until they became the great product you see today.
